Just picked my car up from the dealer to get this recall completed. Unfortunately they are telling me the harness needs replacement but no part available. Now the waiting game for parts.
Received the OFFICIAL letter yesterday, 8/6/2025. I had seen it in the My Chevy App and OnStar message. Took the vehicle in right away before the July forth holiday. The dealership was unaware, looked the car over and said they need to order the part(s). I guess for me no damage - yet - but dealer stated they need clips. In between these times, drama building, I get a email from GM to rate my dealers service. So I shared the above details.
Monday this week I get a call from GM following up on the survey. Caller stated that the dealer will in gact eventually get parts in and then we should have brought the car in for inspection = repair. As someone in this chain stated, I don't want to see what it feels like to steer an out of control vehicle when /if the rear brakes lock up. Right?

THANKS FOR READING..... Still loving my BLAZER EV. (My second of three EV's)

Got my letter today no parts available. Gm will definitely cover all costs atleast on mine.
Got a similar letter today...They are just telling about it. Will send another letter according to this...see attached picture...it is free. So when parts are available they will send another letter. So if anybody receives a letter about parts being available it will be good to let us know.

We took ours into the Dealer to have this looked at. We were told our harness was fine and looked like new. Well that was a damn lie, I just had the brakes lock up on me Tuesday afternoon. Both of my thumbs were dislocated, the ER never got my right thumb back in socket either. Now I need surgery.

I called the dealer when I got home and gave them hell for lying to me. They tried playing stupid so that turned me toward calling GM myself, the lady from GM got the dealer on a 3 way call with me. They tried giving her the run around while I was listening.

I want my car fixed but not by these lying people. They are supposed to come get it Monday morning along with a loaner. But, I got a call from them this morning saying sorry we can not give you a loaner because they don't have any. I asked then why did you tell the GM rep you did? Crickets and no direct answer, he realized I cought them lying again.
What am I supposed to do here? I need a car to get to work, I'm not renting one.
This isn't something that can be swept away, I'm not driving it when it's a death trap. I could have been rear ended and at highway speed that would have been bad. Should I just call my lawyer or what? I really want to go crack some skulls but that's my anger speaking.

The dealer should contact a rental car company, GM will pay for daily rental. Call GM back and get authorization. Because this is a safety recall situation you can use any dealer for repair.

I have a 2024 Blazer EV and I inspected my harness myself and mine looked great also, but I was told the harness should be cut open to inspect the wires inside. Hope this info helps someone else.

A few extra details from the online report at RCLRPT-25V433-3157.pdf .

Total number of potentially involved: 40,233. Estimated percentage with defect: 1%

A review of field data completed on May 21, 2025, found 97 complaints potentially related to damaged parking brake wiring. These complaints were received by GM between August 15, 2023 and May 15, 2025. Of these 97 claims, two described rear wheel lock-up while driving and one described loss of parking brake function. On June 18, 2025, GM's Safety Field Action Decision Authority (SFADA) decided to conduct a safety recall. GM is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.

So it sounds fairly low risk at this point. Not much you can do about the potential for brakes activating during driving, but if I park on a hill, I can back it up with the curb or something blocking the wheels.

Comment #46 above report injuries to their thumbs and needing surgery.
if it is the wire harness that there are pictures in comments #22 or #23 then i suspect they may be damaged if you ploughed through snow or tall grass etc (especially in reverse) ...or you scraped the bottom in going through rough roads etc...

So they expect 400 damages out of 40K vehicles with the harness placed where they are.

If they don't have a loaner, they rent a car for you. That's what a dealer did for me, from the local Hertz place. They said it was in the warranty, so look it up. At least that dealer knew it and did it without my demanding.

Well, I could see that. Placement is the issue: those hose-like connections/conduits are basically the lowest hanging thing under the car, which means you don't have to be going in reverse for them to make contact, though it could be worse in reverse. They could be routed to be a few inches higher, which would prevent them having contact should you challenge your ground clearance. I just went and looked at mine and they do not seem to show any abrasion. But I am the one here who talks about taking my car on rough roads. Somehow I doubt that my pre-EV Subarus had anything susceptible hanging down like that. If the designers really were designing for rough road capability, they would not do that. It would be nice if somebody with a newer model not included in the recall could post pictures to see if they are doing it different now.

I'm gambling that my 2025 Blazer EV harness is safe for now. I purchased the vehicle with only 25 miles on it now has 2019 miles on it in . I figure if it took this long to surface I can wait out the time it takes for the parts to arrive at the dealers to resolve the issue. I've only owned it for 4 months.

Assuming these are the cables in question. That's what mine look like after ~40,000 miles. As others have pointed out, hanging so far down is probably not a great design. I didn't notice any sharp bends or chafing points. So, lack of visible external damage is somewhat reassuring. Would be great if an owner of post Jan 25 vehicle would post photos of the same cables. Curious what the "fix" looks like.

I just got my recall letter last week, I have an appointment for a tire rotation tommorrow ( Wed 13th) my understanding is they still don't have the parts in if you need a replacement, I don't think they'll even bother to look at it tommorrow since it's just for a tire rotation, I smell a reschedule appointment is soon to be made! ( 2024 Blazer EV 7600 miles )

Thanks for posting those images. I went out and took a look at mine, and while they don't appear to be corroded I can see that the conduit is a little crimped around the harness. I suspect they used the wrong size rubber gasket to hold the conduit in place.

I've only driven 2019 miles.

Your left side crimping looks the same as the picture in post #22 above...crimped with a bit of non-abrasive tape to protect it. So might be the same person who did this conduit routing on these two vehicles ??
