Vehicle Wide Software Update

I found a new dealer to address my multiple niggling issues (intermittent recognition for auto tailgate, power moonroof needs multiple tries to close, steering wheel tilted, oem evse overheats when ambient temp hits 75F, charger door sticks out at bottom right corner and has a hesitation and then a snap into place for the last 1/8 inch of travel, etc.). They claimed to have done a "Vehicle Wide Software Update" and so far my tailgate has recognized me 3 out of 3 times. I do now have the split seat icon so I know I'm updated, but I can't put my finger on a post with the known latest update to verify I am fully up to date. I'll post pics here. Can someone please confirm I am up to date? Thanks
On a different note, the dealer recommended they not do the charger door tsb (filing down the bumpers on the door). They have ordered a new door mechanism, with no eta, and want to see if that fixes it. More interesting, the EV technician says he is "hearing" that Chevy is working on a retrofit mechanical door. He expects a recall or other program to offer it up to us when it is in production. I'm taking that with a very large grain of salt, but I was told that the tech is driving a Blazer EV so he has some skin in the game. My service advisor is also driving a Blazer EV. I think I'll stick with this dealer for a while.

I still find it unnerving that my security update is now more than 10 months old.

Is this the latest? Including the first OTA?

My dealer was reluctant to fix the charger door too. I had them do it anyway and it’s much better. they ground down some plastic. It fits perfectly now where befor the bottom was out enough to get one’s finger under it. I afraid someone would try to rip it open. still, sometime it moves more slowly than others, so it still binding every so often.

I am getting ready to take my Blazer in for the first service at 7500 miles. When I check the install history, both on the app and on the infotainment screen, there are no updates. I received an OTA update a few months ago but I could not get it to install, and it eventually disappeared. I am guessing that I will need an update from the dealer and I do have a list of quirky things that have happened from time to time. The most common of these issues is the rain sensing wipers not working at all or sometimes just constantly running when there is nothing on the windshield.
I will probably call OnStar and ask before I go to the dealer, but I am hoping that the dealer doesn't give me any slack about doing an update.

I had no luck at all with the first dealer on getting a software update. They said they would not do any updates without replicating a problem I reported, and, of course, they didn't replicate any of the intermittent issues I saw. For the second dealer I cited NHTSA Bulletin 24-NA-143 from July of this year that calls out a customer satisfaction program instructing dealers to update if requested. I don't know if that was why the second dealer did the updates or not, but it probably can't hurt. Many thanks to whomever it was who posted a reference to that bulletin elsewhere in this forum. I'd still like to get

It will likely take some patience and detailed explanation - for you service department to fully comprehend the scope and directive in this bulletin... It will Not show up in their normal recall/repairs search.

Specifically... under "CONDITION"... this is the following verbiage - NOTE: of critical importance - is the last sentence of this paragraph...

Important: Review Global Warranty/Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) for any Customer Satisfaction Field Action - for Vehicle Wide Programming (VWP) Software Update before performing this bulletin. If the VIN is OPEN in IVH, perform the Customer Satisfaction Field Action. If the VIN is NOT OPEN, * proceed with this bulletin.*

Again... If the VIN is not open, PROCEED WITH THIS BULLETIN

Bulletin also directs dealers to do a VWP update on EVERY 2024 GM EV - at the time of sale... (of course it may take a few days or weeks to get it scheduled into their service department)

Bulletin ALSO provides a Warranty Claim Code... for dealer to be compensated for service...

I will have to write that number down when I go in. Maybe print it out.

Make sure they pull all the codes for the modules. I don't know it they show up from a standard OODB2 pull or not. My Blazer had all the OTA updates and showed everything was up to date on the web site but still got 13 module updates and that helped a lot. There are still bugs and inconsistencies, but it's much better than before. For instance I can now parallel park, the infotainment screen doesn't go black, and settings don't randomly change.

After my interaction with the totally non-respinsive first dealer (which was EV certified btw), I brought a typed list of issues to the second one. That made it easier on both of us. But I'm positive that having a service advisor and an ev mechanic both driving a Blazer ev was a big help. I hope your dealer is responsive.

is there any way to tell whether system wide software update was done? the glitches i see on mine suggests that i might ask the dealer to do one.

Would you be willing to post a picture of your installed software version? I'd like to get independent verification that mine really is now ip to date. Thanks.

Good to know. Thank you!

Not that I know of. And I don't know if that is any sort of official GM term. It may just be a term the dealer used. I've searched the forum but can't seem to find where folks have posted images of their software version which they believe to be the most up to date, so I'm still not sure if I have the latest.

the one update ends in 180 for the software build version.

thanks. if the latest software version supposed to have heated and cooling icon (like the one in your picture) then i do not have the latest as my screen only has single icon.

Yep, it looks like you are right where I was. If you want to try again, ask them to update your software per NHTSA Bulletin 24-NA-143 from July of this year. I'm not sure if that's what did it for me or if I have just found a very customer focused dealer service department.

Yes going to call and check. I am pretty sure they will be clueless as they just did software update (Battery Module) 2 weeks ago. Very nice people/place to deal with though so assuming lack of EV training/experience.

Interestingly one of the very reason i moved from Hyundai was the dealer experience. Horrible on both sales and service side. Even though i had one in 3 km and another 5 within 20 km, i used to go to one almost 60 km away. Car was good and didn't have to deal with Hyundai directly (I am sure they could easily be as horrible as GM, mainly not providing enough tools for its employees). GM dealership i am dealing with on the other hand has been excellent (both sales and service). Sigh! why can't we have best of both.
