Please use this thread to report the newest updates for the Blazer and give as much info. on it as is possible. Also include any side effects that you encounter as a result of these updates.
I had a long gap on the last one, I messed up the first opportunity to download and it was over a month before I saw it again. The next one is starting to push out now. It's been another 2 months and nothing has changed. I doubt I will see that update again.
Shame on us for wanting the best vehicle possible. It's amazing to me that many are so obsessed with having the latest software. If your car is working as it should, what's the big deal? The update will come as it's needed.
most of these updates are relatively minor and barely noticeable to the driver, but people dont ever want to think they are missing out on anything. People post their updates on FB and then immediately folks post asking why they haven't gotten it yet. It's amazing to me that many are so obsessed with having the latest software. In my case, it’s what you mentioned. I have been plagued with infotainment glitches and connectivity issues since I purchased the car. When I see there is an update, especially when it mentions it possibly fixes the issues I’m having, I want it asap. It's amazing to me that many are so obsessed with having the latest software. if you had the updates launched to date at the dealer and via OTA you would not have those problems. Most of that stuff has been vanquished months ago. I drive my car around 100 miles a day 5 days a week. When Google maps won’t connect for traffic routing or streaming on the available apps doesn’t work due to connectivity issues, it makes my experience in this $50k+ beta test computer with wheels miserable. Add in that I can’t then project my phone as a back up option for directions and have to constantly look down at my phone if I don’t know where I’m going or to change stations/podcasts on my apps on my phone, it makes wanting the latest updates even more of a priority if there’s a chance they fix my issues.
I have what I think is the most recent update via OTA, R5-250.2. I really think I have a hardware issue somewhere but the dealerships near me are seriously incompetent, so they are of no help.if you had the updates launched to date at the dealer and via OTA you would not have those problems. Not everything can be done OTA. If the car isn't working, the dealer needs to look at it and fix it. Module updates are done via USB at the dealer and you may need some of those. I can't speak to the competence of your dealer and I don't know what they were told or what they told you. But if your car hasn't had the VWP which has been talked about on this forum and in other places that is probably the reason you are seeing continued problems. If the dealer isn't cooperating then I recommend bringing the EV concierge and informing them about your problems and the lack of remedy from your dealer. In my car (and I suspect most others) Google connects 99% of the time within seconds. Also, not every OTA changes the R5 number as far as I know so that identifier doesn't really prove your car has the latest OTA updateI have what I think is the most recent update via OTA, R5-250.2. Almost daily my car can’t connect when I need it to. I have a personal and work phone that have no issues on cell when this happens and I drive all over the place in a large metro area so I know it’s not a cell tower issue. My other car and work cars use ATT and don’t have this problem(I believe that is what OnStar uses still). I’ve tried everything from signing out to full factory resets. I thankfully don’t get the random infotainment freezes or black screen anymore since the most recent update. I keep hoping the next update will finally fix my connectivity issues.
So, this is a known issue..GM has known about it since at least June of this year. There is actually a memo out on it to dealerships saying they are working on a fix. I had my car in. They tried to tell me car is working as expected after they managed to get my infotainment screen back on. The car is not working as expected, but there is yet to be a known fix. GM is actually telling dealerships to have customers not return to service department for repairs to "wait it out" until they can come up with a solution. This seems like a direct attempt to prevent Lemon Law issues for them. Which is quite funny because GM has their own Site to address Lemon Law and only after you go through them, can you move on to a real lawyer and a real resolution.I received V604.02 OTA the other day. Nothing noticeable for me, still have the same connectivity issues.
This might a one time issue, but the day after the update, my first drive post-update was 40 miles. I drove about 35 minutes with no issues and then out of nowhere all of my screens went black(the dash, infotainment, and hud). The car kept driving and everything came back about 1 minute later and looked like it did a full reboot. Definitely not a good feeling when you’re driving down the highway at 70 mph with traffic around. I used to have this issue on earlier software versions, I hope it doesn’t become a regular thing again.
I want to know what version their infotainment is because GM has had a fix for blank screen issues. The latest SQBR5 and SQBR6 Builds resolve this. So, this is a known issue..GM has known about it since at least June of this year. Get to your dealer and have VWP done.I received V604.02 OTA the other day. Nothing noticeable for me, still have the same connectivity issues.

Oh they fixed the blank screen, they fixed nothing else. I have no navigation, no voice control, air conditioning works 1 out of 5 times I enter the vehicle...Google is constantly off line. I have no OnStar. I can't check charging status 9 out of time times. I have no My Chevy app connectivity at all, no remote controls work.I want to know what version their infotainment is because GM has had a fix for blank screen issues. If this is for me- did you read my post? I was just at my dealer! They supposedly did all updates, vehicle still doesn't work and now they don't want to service it again. They are telling me to wait it out.Get to your dealer and have VWP done.
