After installing GM N25-F172AE I’m now getting an Onstar needs attention warning on the app and the red Onstar light in my car. I’m going to drive it around this weekend and see if it clears like my high voltage ones did a while ago. If not, back to the dealership…
I had this with the last update (the GM N24-F172AC) ....the onstar light became red in the car...after a few infotainment reset and car off and start ...it went away.

24 model year Blazer RS AWD. Purchased in August 2024. Got one update back in September and the new N25 update a few days ago. GPS stopped working immediately after the N25 update installed. Says it can't find the signal. Have tried the "easy" stuff like holding the end-call paddle for 15 seconds, turning the GPS off and then back on. None of those have worked so far. Will post an update if I figure something out. Please YOU do the same if you had the same problem and figured it out?!

Onstar issue finally corrected itself today.

GPS is working again after the N25 update. Turning GPS services off then back on did it the second time, possibly because I waited a long time in between turning them off then back on.

Procedure (via Settings in the infotainment console):

Turned off On Star Location services

Turned off Account Location services

Held end-call button for 15 seconds to reset console (am not sure if this step was necessary or not, but am including it because I did it - sorry)

Waited. In my case it was several hours before turning things back on, but I have read elsewhere this type of action only requires about 20 minutes waiting. Of note, this was the one step I did NOT do the first time when it didn't work to restore GPS.

Turned on Account Location services

Turned on On Star Location services

GPS is working again!

Good luck!

@JohnnyBoyJiggle we had to do the end-call reset over the weekend. For whatever reason on our Blazer the voice command "Hey Google" feature went wonky. If you asked it for info or directions, it would super briefly flash the box that pops up showing it's listening, and then immediately give you the "finish" tone. Kind of weird to have to reboot the Android system but after it restarted, everything was working fine.

I have a 24 RS RWD (bought last May) and just got the GM N25-F172AE update today. I had checked for updates and it said there were none, but I left the window up while I was typing on my phone and then it popped up that there was an update.

The only other update I got was GM 24-F172AC, back in October.

A few weeks ago my GPS stopped working and the OnStar light was red. I tried pushing the OnStar button and all it wanted to do was sell me a plan. I had to track down a number and call, and after trying twice to get the module to reset, I had to take it to the dealership. They did a "re-authentication" and chalked it up to a failed OTA update.

I've since discovered the magic phrase 24-NA-143 and have a vehicle wide module update scheduled for tomorrow.

I just got the update N25-F172AE. No message just checked updates in settings in the car...there i noticed it had a message saying there is an update....failed first time but updated second time (i usually start it and leave the car...it does say not to lock the car though). Last time in October I remember the app told me it was successful... This time it was silent. It is only when i checked the updates it tells me it installed the update. So after more than 3 months of the first people reporting getting this OTA that i got it.

I received my OTA today. Only way to get it to go through was waiting in the car upon shutting it down. Didn't see any notable difference except the wah wah pedestrian sound is much lower at idle/stand still, google navigation added highway exit numbers, and backup phantom braking acting up again that I had to shut off and enable only alerts

My notification showed up last week but my install didn't work, i think it was because I tried to unlock the car while the install was occurring. It has not shown up again.

I saw on FB that a lyriq owner just got an OTA similar to what the equinox has gotten that mentions less 12v battery drain, improved charging performance and better battery system warnings. Still haven't any mention of blazer owners getting this one.

how does one get an update. My version is nearly 2 years old. I keep manually checking but I never see an update. View attachment 3490

I am going to the dealer for the second time to get this resolved. I took delivery of two 2024 Blazer EV's both April 2024 build dates. They both have the same version you have listed which is the original release or near to it. You need to go to the dealer and demand both vehicle wide updates, and USB updates for your radio.

As of last week the update addressing charging improvements shows up on NHSTA site

Manufacturer Communication Number: N25-249456.

I saw this referenced by Equinox owners recently. Not sure why they don't all hit at the same time. I still didn't get the last OTA, it did show up once and it failed and it hasn't resurfaced. Edit: when I clicked on the pdf for the update it has different language than the summary provided on the list of TSBs. It mentions improved 12v battery drain performance but makes no mention of charging performance.

Just received GM N25-2494560. No issues with the OTA update this time.

The update looks promising for some of the reported issues. I had the 12v battery go bad in my Blazer. Maybe they have addressed the cause of that issue. And many of us have seen the “service high voltage” message for any number of things.
