We have an RS and the only thing the key fobs do is show which driver is in the driver's seat. We have the memory buttons and it doesn't matter which key we have; we just press 1 or 2 depending on if it's me or my wife driving. We just share a profile for the Google stuff as it's easier that way and honestly we don't mind because we share everything.

 

The seats should move along with mirrors. Are you sure you have the setting activated???

 

I have an RS also, but can't the seat configuration be saved on the 2 buttons on the door?
Anyway, for all the key fob features and personalization it should be better to take your time and read the user manual.

I also share pretty much everything with my wife, but given our height difference, seat and mirrors settings aren't even close.

Sounds like we'll have to waste 30 seconds everytime we'll get in the car. I know, first-world problem, but in a 60k$ Blazer, come on, man!

 

Tesla had their memory settings tied to the "key card"/phone that the driver was set to as it detected it when entering the driver's seat. I too was hoping GM would have done something similar with the key fobs for the Blazer. There's not really a perk to the key fob other than how it works with any other vehicle with the smart key function.

 

I have an RS blazer and each key fob can be linked individually with a seat position. The one issue that I have problems with is if I use the easy exit option the seat does not always go back to where it is supposed to go. Sometimes it will only move an inch and stop very irritating so this is another feature that I just had to turn off because it was not working correctly. The bad thing about that is if I try and get in the vehicle after my wife has driven it, I always smash my head on the roof rail because the seat is way up too high. It always reminds me just how much I have started to hate this vehicle.

 

You know I complained probably significantly more than you, but I would very much want to know what significantly better alternative you'll find, especially for little short guys like us. 😏

 

How do you tie the seat/mirror settings to the key fob?

 

When you enter the vehicle, it should tell you what key fob you have so if it’s number one, just go ahead and adjust the seats the way you like them and the mirrors, then hit button number one and set and that should take care of it. While you are driving, if you make subtle adjustments to your seat to your liking, all you have to do is hit button one and set even while you’re driving just be careful not to take your eyes off the road too long and that should readjust it.

 

can you tie the Google Maps profiles to a key FOB... And each then each key FOB have its own vehicle settings? For example, my wife doesn't like the auto open feature on the hatchback because she has to scoot out of our house quickly and by th read of the vehicle to avoid open the tailgate. There some other feature I like she'd like to have disabled.

Well, again, it baffles me we can't rely on seat buttons in the LT and that there's not even any sort of link between key fobs and profiles.

LTs don't get the garage door opener, a stupid omission that I can bypass. But in a car that claims its integrated system is top-notch (to the point of keeping us from using Android Auto), I think it's pathetic the Blazer cannot even distinguish which key is being used.

Any hope this could be fixed via an OTA update?

 

If the Lt doesn't have seat memory feature it has nothing to do with Android automotive.. Without memory seats you can't recall b seat positions, this is the same for every car.

 

The seats/mirrors go to my setting if I hold the button that says 2 on the door near the handle. It doesn't automatically adjust when I get into the car with my key fob unless I'm misunderstanding something.

 

If the option to recall seats isn't enabled it won't do it automatically upon unlocking the car. Look in settings.

I think I have mentioned this twice already. Have you checked your settings for auto memory seat recall??? You haven't responded, but you keep saying that the way to recall the seats it by pressing the button. Its the same for easy exit, if the setting isnt enabled than you can do it with the button manually.

 

With the LT, no memory seats. So no, you can't make it work.

 

That's what I feared. As much as I had studied that car before getting it, I hadn't noticed we'd have to deal with this specific omission in our LT.

Now if I could only associate each key fob to a profile, I'd be OK.

 

With regards to linking profiles and keyfobs, I think they either ran out of time or got lazy. The key fob data is on the network, because it’s announced on the driver’s screen. I’ve got to believe Google can access the CANbus data because it interacts with other GM digital parameters like HVAC settings. Maybe we will all be shocked with an upgrade…

What you describe is exactly what I was hoping for!

Alas, when I got into Comfort & Convenience, there was nothing related to Personal Profiles, even less about key fobs.

I'm afraid that since you have a RS, you see things that us LT owners can only dream of... Thanks anyway!

 

I turned on the setting for seat entry and am happy that it does this for us now depending on which key fob it detects. What does the seat exit setting do? I turned that on as well but didn't notice anything happen.

 

all of this is in the manual. You have to set an exit seat position and then it will move to that position each time you turn "off" the car if you have that enabled

 

Guys, let's not fight on this glorious Halloween Day. As OP, my question was simple: can LT owners link fobs to profiles (eventually including seat positions)?

Now, if you can help us out, great. If not, or if you only belittle people who ask legitimate questions, maybe it's better you skip this convo.

I was gonna post about the loud pedestrian choir or how we can access WhatsApp / Messenger since they're not in AAOS, but surely I'll get things like "you'll get sued if you hit someone after turning off the alert" or "you shouldn't use these apps while you're driving".

Really, don't feel the urge to write here if it's be mean or unconditionally protect freaking GM.

 

I'm sorry if saying that a feature on the RS isn't included on the Lt constitutes defending freaking GM unconditionally. I just thought it was a fact, but I stand corrected. I guess lying or pretending would make one more objective in your view. I'm not sure what response you were expecting.

 

Any one here who is in Canada and has RS is able to link Fob to Profile? I do not see the option to link fob to profile once created.

Ty for the clarification. I was referring to the Google Profiles. I hope they can link the Fob and Profile as this seems like a straightforward ask.

Google profile is just one of the accounts that can be assign to your infotainment active profile together with vehicle account (the one used in myChevrolet app) and the apps to which you subscribed with and email address and not with your Google account. When open any of these apps, you'll automatically login with that email address or the google email address.

However, I diddn't find anything about assigning a keyfob to the active profile.
