I wonder why they cant just leave the WOW on All The Time? Thats what Im Paying for...615 and 650...Just like the Lyriq V Im sure its the same...Almost 90,000 if not more and its up to me everytime I get in to hit a button to get the full power

Same thing in the Lyriq...have to hit the button for Velocity mode.

I agree that it should retain the last setting. Hyundai does something similar with a Boost button in the GV60 and Ioniq N. The right foot should be the boost button.

I saw a video where the acceleration was tested in standard mode vs WOW- its still under 4 seconds in standard if I recall. The gap was way less than I thought. In fact, it seems it may be generating better numbers than the lyriq AWD but I dont think Chevy has clarified

 

I've tried it a few times and it's noticeable, the actual driving difference.

Numbers themselves though? It's 615hp/650lb-ft torque with WOW button activated and 0-60 in 3.3s. Normally, without WOW mode, it's 515hp & 450lb-ft torque and just under 5 seconds.

And as an owner there is definitely no way to leave WOW on all the time correct?

 

If it's the same video that I seen, it did a 3.4 0 to 60 in WoW mode, and a 3.76 in standard mode although he did not mention SOC at the time of the runs.

 

I was always taught the engine should never be cranked if the car was in gear, unless the clutch was fully depressed (stick) or in Park/Neutral (auto).

Auto stop-start violates that rule, as it will crank the engine with the vehicle in gear.

Plus, when it shuts down at a red light, the oil pressure is zero and then you're accelerating. Both accelerating away from the light, and accelerating engine wear.
