Well Chip, here's my take on your question. Lots of what I say here is conjecture on my part since my knowledge about the Blazer EV is derived from second-hand knowledge from enthusiast's internet posts and GM's "leaks" about the Blazer EV. That said, it is my understanding the Blazer EV will be offered first in the "SS" trim level. As you know, SS, in GM speak, is their interpretation of a "performance" vehicle. Lesser versions of the Blazer EV will follow after the initial launch of the SS version. So, if you're not into the SS performance version of the Blazer EV, you will probably want to wait for the toned-down versions which will become available later in the production cycle. I'm pretty sure that the SS model will come with AWD, high horsepower, 0-60 speed at or below 4.0 seconds, special badging, rims and tire size, exclusive paint colors etc. in keeping with the historical "Super Sport" trim levels offered by Chevrolet.
"What am I wanting in a vehicle?" I'm looking for a BEV that can equal, or beat, a Fisker Ocean Ultra in terms of price, performance, range, features, options...and...availability. I'm somewhat concerned that the Fisker Ocean would be quite a bit smaller in cargo space than my current Nissan Murano SL which my new car will be replacing. At this point, who knows? I've never seen an Ocean and I have to rely on second-hand information and someone else's interpretation of size and space. However, I believe that the Blazer EV will be a somewhat larger vehicle in all around dimensions and cargo space than the Ocean Ultra. That probability appeals to me.
When it comes to 12V recharging strategy on the Blazer EV...I don't have a clue. Personally, I have not heard of this issue being a problem with EVs in general. So, for the moment anyway, I'll just trust that the automotive engineers at GM are smart enough to figure out how to keep the 12V battery viable and charged in their EVs just like their ICE offerings.
