Is it just me or will people living where there is snow have a hard time (maybe impossible) closing the charge door after being plugged-in for a few hours while snow is falling and accumulating inside this cubby? Very beautiful design but maybe a door like on the second picture would be best. What do you think?

I think the bigger issue will be snow and ice preventing it from opening more than an issue closing it. With that said, you are right - if a vehicle is plugged in for several hours, there is the chance that snow and ice will build up preventing it from closing. I'm guessing in most cases, you could just brush it out while you are scraping the windows.
