Hello All,

I had a chance to attend the D.C auto show since they have Silverado, Blazer (SS), and Equinox EV on display. I know visual appearances/designs are very subjective, but wow, Blazer EV is one fantastic looking vehicle. Judging by promo videos and pictures this car looked good, but in person it's even more stunning. I love the low stance and overall width, almost makes it seem like a hot hatch/wagon. Expanding the wheel base gives the car very aggressive look. You can't sit in it or come close to it, they had the driver's side door open so you can take a peak.

I was very close to making a decision on Model Y, but after seeing this one in person, I can wait till fall.

If you're in MD/VA/DC, you should check it out.

Welcome to the forum. Did you take any pictures of them? Is your next EV going to be your first?

Thank!
Not the best pictures by any mean, I was with my two year old and he had his own agenda :)
This will be our first EV.
If you compare to the Lyriq, are they the same size? Who's taller?
I've driven a Lyriq RWD and i felt it was underpowered.
However, the SS is too expensive for me. I wonder if the eAWD will be better.
The back rake is much station wagon like on the Blazer, which I prefer over the Lyriq

I haven't seen Lyric iin person so I can't say how they both compare. Plus there was no Cadillac presence at the auto show. I agree with you, I like the rear of Blazer

I saw both at the Detroit auto show this summer. They are almost exactly the same size and height.
Most EVs get an extra 100-150 hp by going to AWD, so I assume even an AWD LT2 trim will have over 400hp.

I hughly suggest the inline virtual tour you can set up on the Chevy/Cadillac websites where an actual person walks around the vehicle with their phone camera and answers all of your questions.

It is possible that the AWD Blazer EV will use the same motors as the Equinox EV which is a 180Kw motor up front and 62Kw motor in back. In which case it will have less hp than the RWD which uses a single 255Kw rear motor. Furthermore if the AWD Blazer only comes with the medium pack those two motors will only make 290hp. If it comes with the large pack it should make around 320hp with those motors.

It's really hard to justify the Blazer EV over the Equinox EV if it can't tow more. Only 2 cu. feet cargo space difference with 2nd row folded. On the ICE versions the Blazer is more powerful and can tow at least 3500 pounds vs 1500 for the Equinox.

The only reason why I still consider the Blazer EV is because it will be available before and I really need a new car

I'm frustrated by the lack of confirmed acceleration, HP and range data on the RS AWD. Pretty much down to an RS, or the Fisker Ocean. The Fisker Ultra @ 540 HP AWD and 0-60 sub 4 sec is pretty compelling at around 50K, but as it stands, its not eligible for the IRA credit. Curious too what Honda is going to do with the Prologue.

I felt the same. Yet, GM said blazer is available for summer. Equinox is end of year, and it gets the technical sort out already. GM had annonce they have phase out Bolt, and Equinox should fill that void. But Blazer, it's not that clear to me, if size is slightly *bit bigger with similar HP, but 10000$ more, it's a bit hard for someone to choose between the two. And like you said, blazer comes before equinox.
I can only see GM is gauge the market interrest of both reservation, and plan for their production. If the two are heavily overlapping the segments, GM is only trying to saturate the market. But with Tesla price cut, this doesn't work well...

I had a Fisker Reservation. Fisker is being more evasive than GM with answering serious questions about the Ocean. My intuition says they are playing fast and loose with the specs and trying to hold out as long as possible to mitigate blowback. No one has really verified their performance claims...

Too much drama at Fisker, .too much risk. Dropped my reservation early this year.

For me it whether or not the Blazer RS AWD comes with the larger battery pack as standard or even as an optional add on. If it does not, there is not enough of a reason to get the Blazer over the Equinox.
