I'm hopefully the new Blazer EV will be at the Atlanta Auto show. It would be great to see it in person. Even better if we could touch/ sit in it by then. Anyone else planning to attend this event.

Yesterday I had a chance to see the Blazer SS EV prototype in Atlanta. I was impressed with it. I won't talk specs or anything. Most of us know them.

I took a few photos. I tried to take a few different angles. We have all seen the press photos.

My thoughts.

It is a wide, long SUV.
The wheels are huge.
The brembo brakes are nice.

I am starting to think I should have reserved an SS. Alas, but I want the little extra range.

if you jump to the SS, why not just go with the Tesla MY P, it's the cheaper price and no surprise (with GM- launch year).
MYP is 58990$ (75990CAD), SS is 65995$(83997CAD-QC) (Probably plus markups).

Someone not loyal to the GM, ok to be annonymous(So many tesla, nowaday) would cross shop definitely.
I would be ok to keep the RS awd, if it can have with the big battery.
The model 3 SR+ that I have currently is plenty of omphh on the highway, going 550hp+ sounds lots of money paying for performance tire and 22" will definitely hit my bank way earlier than I can think of.

My reasons would be:

1) No HUD in Tesla
2) Must use center screen for everything with Tesla
3) Insurance higher for Tesla
4) No welcome lighting with Tesla
5) SS will be a lot more unique in my area than a Tesla.
6) MY P would come with Summer Only tires vs all season on SS (needed here with cold temps)
My reasons would be:

1) No HUD in Tesla - If you look at the Lyriq, they remove the HUD offering on the 2023 DE and 2024 model; i'll be surprise it will be offered on the Blazer EV on Launch.
2) Must use center screen for everything with Tesla - yup, i
3) Insurance higher for Tesla - Not really, we replaced our 10years old BMW with the Tesla M3 SR+, no premium changed.
4) No welcome lighting with Tesla - But they have Lightshow and fart.
5) SS will be a lot more unique in my area than a Tesla. - True.
6) MY P would come with Summer Only tires vs all season on SS (needed here with cold temps) - Not applicable to us, in the very cold climate here, it's mandatory to use Winter (Snow flake tire - not just A/S)
Anyhow, same here, the model Y fit and finish is not really good. In Canada, Tesla hasn't being mandate to open to non-Tesla for their SC network just yet. So, I'm keeping my tesla and will replace our second car with the Blazer. I've driven, the MYP, GV60P, in my opinion, the extra 200HP, is just too much for me, day to day drive. Thats' why i am aiming for the Blazer RS aAWD.

Sometimes, it’s not all about price.

I agree. I live in Northern Virginia and there are too many Tesla's around. I put a deposit on Model Y but I am not too sure if Model 3/Y produced during first and second quarter are worth it. They lack ultra sonic sensor, not equipped with upgraded camera, and possibly missing hardware 4.
