Orders opening later this month according to my dealer

The dealer that I put in a reservation for the Blazer EV just contacted me. They introduced themselves and stated that they've received word that they'll be able to start taking orders later this month and if I still was interested in ordering. Other than that, details are exactly what we know. Currently there's no information on options or confirm standard items on specific trim other than what's been stated by GM.

My dealer stated that they won't be getting any dealer inventory to test drive or sit in. Everything will be customer ordered. Not much information other than it seems that we'll be able to place orders later this month.

With the changes that has happened since reservations opening up, I'm not sure I'll be ordering the later this month.

I'm more interresting on how does the gov't incentive will apply on the Blazer.
Even I had purchase an Tesla M3SR+ 2023, it was eligible for Quebec+Fed incentive, but it's really annoying how they will stack up, when you compare to other OEM.
Ex: Polestar 2, both FWD/RWD/AWD qualifies for QC/Fed, because base FWD MSRP are below the threshold. Options can keep adding up with no issue.
But Tesla, isn't. If you go for LR, you fall out of the eligibility.
Battery size is a bit worry, the RS AWD will fall out of that eligibility. (AWD should have the bigger battery right?)
For incentives, it's not considered an option if the Drivetrain and/or battery change that's why the M3LR is fall out

This is my local dealer response, which more or less lines up with others:

At this present time GM is not accepting any retail orders for consumers. This program that just launched will be for dealerships to have two or three vehicles available for customers to look at and test drive. This summer customers that had reservations with a Chevrolet dealer will be able to order. Depending on where you sit in line with the Chevrolet dealer you have your current reservation with will determine how soon you will be able to order your desired vehicle. We will go down the list when we have allocation to order Blazer EV's.

This makes more sense than the orders being opened up to reservation holders.

So, as I had suspected, You won't have your car this summer. (Advertised as Available in Summer - More like "Available" to order in Summer).
I am sure, its more Fall than Summer before anyone here will have a Blazer on their Hands.
Also, you have to sacrifice your choice and option to match GM' production schedule.

Why GM still so secretive, not letting consummer know what are the order guides, and the configurator online?
Revenue control? Waiting for their competitor to reveal pricing? What's holding up so long?

Don't disclose these adhoc news via Dealer.
I, like a lot of Blazer reservation holder did the reservation online, it should be fairly easy to update the reservation holder directly to us by email.
GM, if you have people reading this, change your communication and makes it more transparent.

Following up to my previous posting, I spoke to a very knowledgeable sales lead at my local dealership (where I have my reservation), and he confirmed that they are not processing “reservation” orders yet, and they don’t know when they will. He said they’ve received no word on allocations. I’m #5 on the list for my dealership and he was worried that they wont get but a handful of allocations this summer. They do have 2 orders in which are either 1 or 2 demos but one may be a (cough-cough) order for the owners wife, lol.
My dealership says “ Per our inventory mgr, he can order "display, non sellable units" at the end of this month but still no info on client orders.”
I'm in Houston too. What dealer are you using?
I have my reservation with Mac Haik Chevy. But I will be looking around for the best deal. Let me know if anyone in the area is offering any kind of discount. I'll do the same.

I decided to wait a couple of years so I just leased a GMC Acadia for 24 months. By 2025 I'm thinking the charging network will have greatly expanded and any initial problems with the Blazer will be corrected.
My dealer said tomorrow we can build up mine since reservation #1 and they will know their allocations then as well. Hoping to have all the detail more then what we are seeing online then.

So today is the day or not ? :)
We all hope. LOL. I should be getting a call tonight from my GM
Unfortunately, today is not the day for retail orders. Today was, however, the day that Dealers had to have their demo orders placed. I believe that's where the confusion came from...GM had said something to dealers about orders being available Apr. 20th but it turns out that they were not referring to customer orders.

Each major dealer is allowed 2 units that are currently scheduled to be built the week of May 15th. That would likely put them on the ground in July. No word on if we have to wait for the demos to roll out before we can order for customers.

Thanks for the update and clarification. Contact with my dealer this morning seems to be in sync with your scenario as outlined above. Please let us know if or when you get any more info that you can share about order timing for early reservation holders.

But do dealers actually have to follow that direction is the question

Dealers never have to accept an allocation. They can choose to decline it if they want.

I’m saying why can’t the dealer order these demo units and just sell them when they get them

Typically when the manufacture allows a dealer to order a demo unit, it is outside of the total number of units they are allocated for customer purchase. As a result they will put a restriction on that VIN that requires it to be at the dealership so many months or so many miles before the dealership can "buy" it to be sold. Keep in mind when a dealership sells a new car they have already "bought" it from the manufacture and are selling it to the end user (Tesla is the obvious exception to this model).

Hmm. Just wonder how they actually restrict
Them from doing so. Get a slap on the wrist? Lol
