Orders opening later this month according to my dealer

The dealer that I put in a reservation for the Blazer EV just contacted me. They introduced themselves and stated that they've received word that they'll be able to start taking orders later this month and if I still was interested in ordering. Other than that, details are exactly what we know. Currently there's no information on options or confirm standard items on specific trim other than what's been stated by GM.

My dealer stated that they won't be getting any dealer inventory to test drive or sit in. Everything will be customer ordered. Not much information other than it seems that we'll be able to place orders later this month.

With the changes that has happened since reservations opening up, I'm not sure I'll be ordering the later this month.

When did you put your reservation in?
Minutes after reservations opened😂. I don't think the presentation was even half way over.

Hey all. I just joined. I also got a call yesterday from the dealer. I reserve a Blazer but I was not very early in the reservation process. I probably made my reservation in September some time. For what that's worth. I live in houston.

I’d love to hear what you hear from that, or from any other Canadians.
Welcome to the forum @101playboy. What are allocations like at your dealer?

That's good to know that orders are going to be opening soon! Which model are you thinking of getting @101playboy?

They didn't say and I didn't even think to ask lol. I think i was just ready for answers but to be only disappointed. For me if I do decide to place an order. I'm not in a rush to get it and honestly I hope it'll be 2024 before it comes in as I think I'll be in a better situation. One I'll probably have more money saved up and in a better situation and two might be able to get whatever tax credit we made be able to get at the point of sale versus at filing of taxes. But i see @mleiter is houston area too, so if we both have mac haik that will be two we know lol.

RS RWD for the top range. 🙏🏾 Its not an extra cost for RWD cause the marketing stated standard but 1. Marketing doesn't really tell the whole truth. 2. We all found out nothing was/is set in stone until delivery. 🤷🏾‍♂️

The base price for the RS is for the FWD 10 module battery pack. The RWD RS will have the 12 module battery pack as an option what GM said was that you have to get the 12 module pack if you want RWD.

Correct, which is why I stated can't trust marketing because the graphic (which is ironically still up) gives the impression because it says standard as you'll be paying the $52,000. But as there saying goes, the devil is in the details.

This, the required subscription service for supercruise with the lumped on OnStar service and the recent removal of AA and Carplay to push you guess, it another subscription service are the reasons I'm really considering canceling.

From a business perspective, I totally understand the want of recurring revenue. I even understand that for super Cruise you're going to want updated highways and that cost. But lumping in OnStar service and removing Android auto and carplay. Not not feeling it. I'm buying a vehicle not Netflix. What's next? A subscription service for turning on the vehicle, warming seat (👀 @ you BMW).

Ok rant over🤣

@101playboy - I completely agree with your last point. I'm also seriously considering cancelling our reservation...my wife is pissed about the carplay removal, and I refuse to pay a subscription to duplicate my phone's functionality. I can get behind subscriptions for superfluous features like supercruise, things that are not core to the vehicle.

I also abhor the move away from traditional engineering/manufacturing to jump on the tech/data bandwagon. My employer has strayed from it's core competencies (engineering/manufacturing) and is losing billions.

I spoke with my dealer this morning. She stated that even if I get an order in this year, the vehicle won't come in until next year. I put my reservation in within 24 hours. I think I need a new Dealer 😫. Can I still move my reservation??

Yes, you can still move your reservation to another dealer as long as you have not confirmed your order.

But...it may not make a difference. Your place in the reservation queue won't change, and thus the timing of your delivery. The initial specific trim reservations were sold out within the first few hours, meaning you may be in the general reservation group.

Plus if they do it like some other OEMs do it may depend on the trim, the configuration/options that you select, and/or selected dealer's allotment determines your placement in the queue.
