GM is making a stupid decision with the the EV Blazer but it made up my mind about getting one.

yup - I'm a hair away from cancelling my Blazer EV order (was eyeing either an RS or SS)

This is a not so sneaky way to force even more OnStar down your throat. Why should I pay for data I don't want, through a system I don't want (and only works 50% of the time)

I'm driving my 2022 EUV right now, and while I love the car, I already have a preview of how gimped they will make a car if you don't drink the OnStar koolaid.

Same here..... on the cusp of cancellation.
Actually just went through with the cancellation request, guessing the dealership will just send me a $100 check or something in a week or two, we'll see.

I'm sure GM won't be able to put two and two together and understand WHY people are cancelling orders. Even if your tech is great/sexy/modern, all it takes is one greedy executive to push this garbage down the line and piss everyone off.

Once I got Google on my current vehicle... I deleted Android Auto from my phone. Never liked the vehicle taking over and locking up my phone for use. Rather keep them separate anyway. 15 bucks a month for an unlimited data plan isn't that much.

I wonder if the new upcoming Honda Prologue will follow the same path…
Planned on ordering a '25 Blazer EV SS. I've owned or leased over a dozen GM vehicles. I would not order a first year model. Now planning on purchasing a different EV, due to the cancellation of Apple CarPlay support.

Welcome to the forum @Blazerboy That'll be interesting becuase Honda is using Google's software for their cars.

Honda, which is also adopting Google’s built-in software integration for the next Accord, said it has no plans to do so at the expense of CarPlay and Android Auto.

“Our customers find value in our support of CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google built-in and we now offer these connected solutions across our lineup,” Honda spokesperson Jessica Fini said. “We will continue to offer a range of high quality, interactive solutions to provide value to our customers that match their own technology choices.”

Welcome to the forum @gymcat100! Which other EVs are you considering along with the Blazer?

Mach-E GT most likely

You right. I don't think they will. Like this is a huge blow. I wasn't even considering a model Y, only the blazer EV and the Mach-e as I wanted to keep AA. Now considering the large price drops and federal tax credits available, if I'm not going to have Android auto, I might as well consider Tesla.

I love the look you the Mach-E and physical buttons and loved what GM offered. But my main three factors are price, range, and storage/space. Basically in that order. With this change my ordering is Mach-E and Model Y tied as first choice with a slight advantage to telsa. Then the Blazer EV in a solid third. Luckily I dont need to replace my current vehicle so i can wait longer but GM screwed theirselves.

I guess all the folks that wanted a Blazer EV RS can switch over to the Prologue and get AA/Carplay... maybe they'll make an SS level Type-R, but I doubt it.

I’ve cancelled my reservation. Took 2 weeks for the refund to appear on my credit card statement. I’ll continue driving and enjoying my Mach E with its AA and CarPlay.
