I made my reservation for the SS model. We always hear car specialists/journalists say that it is not a good idea to buy a new model in its first year of production because of all the issues that can occur. This is also a new technology. Anyone else is worried like me that this purchase is very "risky"?

IMO your concerns are spot on! All early owners will be Beta testers pure and simple. The only question in my mind is how capable / how fast will service departments be in fixing the issues that pop up. So far the KIA EV-6, VW ID-4, Ford MME, and a few others have had some pretty frustrating issues for their new owners to deal with. Some of these issues remedies are still a work in progress for the manufacturers. I see no reason to believe that the Blazer will be any different. I plan to wait at least 6 mo. to see how these early produced vehicles fare.

so that means that you have not made a reservation? And if you have, since we have to place an official order way before anyone receives their blazer, you waiting six months means that you will not order one and will lose your ranking in the ordering process so if you do order one six months after the first deliveries you will be looking at a 12 to 18 month wait-time right?

I feel pretty confident in buying a new model from GM. With experience gained from the Bolt, and Ultium experience from the Hummer and Lyriq, I feel pretty good about my Silverado EV and Blazer EV reservations.
I hope you are right but their 6 month experience making hummers and lyrics before they start making the blazer is not much experience. If they have problems with these 2 models they will devote their time to fix these issues before they improve the Blazer. Have you heard about BMW who sold a model for 6 months even if they knew in January that it had major issues before informing the puplic in July?

Correct! I've owned an early production model of the first Generation S-10 4x4 Blazer as well as an early production model of the second Gen. S-10 4 X4 Blazer and they had quite a few issues to sort through. I'll let you new owners of this platform sort the early issues out this time.

I agree with your confidence in GM,I too bought one of the first Volts in Georgia and it was a pleasure to own and drive.
