Hey everyone,
So I’m in the market for a used car again and I want to be extra careful this time. Last time I skipped doing a full VIN check and ended up with a car that had hidden water damage big mistake. I’ve been doing some research and I keep coming across paid sites, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to check a VIN for free and still get a good amount of info.
What do you guys recommend as your go-to free VIN lookup sites? I know about the NICB check and I’ve tried iSeeCars, but I’m not sure how accurate or up-to-date that info is. Are there any free tools that give you details like number of previous owners, title issues, or even service records?
Also, is it worth checking VINs on multiple platforms to cross-reference info? Or do most of the good ones pull from the same databases?
Appreciate the help. I’m looking at a 2016 Altima this weekend and want to be armed with as much info as possible.
